[Fic] Rescued
Apr. 26th, 2018 09:36 pmNed was scared. Being the guy in the chair was one thing, but being the guy in the chair who had been kidnapped by a bad guy who thought he was a super villain was an entirely different thing. He knew Peter was probably out looking for him. He knew he'd be saved at some point. It was just a matter of time, right? Ned continued to think this way so he didn't completely lose it and pee himself. Maybe he'd be less scared if he didn't have a bag over his head while his wrists were bound in front of him.
He froze as he heard food steps and then the familiar, sadistic sound of the gang boss could be heard in the entire room. "Get in there! Accident or not, you can be more bait for our own web."
Ned felt another body jostle next to him and in a panic he let out a hasty "sorry!" even though he wasn't the one who fell into him. There was just some mumbled sound from whoever it was, but strangely, Ned felt a little better. Somehow having company while hostage seemed a bit less scary.
Less scary until there were gun shots and glass shattering and shouting and Ned flailed to the ground, willing himself to be bulletproof. He could feel the person beside him do the same thing.
After what seemed like an hour, but might have been more like five minutes, a familiar voice sounded through the building.
"Ned?! Ned?"
Suddenly there was light and he had to squint. Spider-Man. A big, wide grin spread across his face as Peter pulled apart the plastic zip tie around his wrists. "I am so glad to see you Spider-Man."
That was when Spider-Man noticed the second hostage and went to release them. As he pulled off the hood, the 'them' became a her and Spider-Man seemed to still. Slowly, gingerly, he pulled off the duct tape encompassing the girl's mouth and Ned watched in wide-eyed panic when Spider-Man peeled off his mask to reveal Peter Parker.
"Liz?" A breathless, confused whisper.
Ned looked between the two of them. Did they know each other? The girl looked their age and was pretty, but she definitely didn't go to their school.
"Peter?" She smiled through her confusion and then she almost leaped forward and hugged him tightly. "Peter!"
"Uh... I don't mean to break whatever this is, up. But, still in evil person's secret layer thing so -"

Liz sat on the bottom bunk of Peter Parker's room and waited patiently, if not awkwardly, as Peter deposited Ned safely back home and no doubt answered a hundred questions. She sat with her hands in her lap, taking the entire room in. It felt like Peter. It smelled like Peter. It brought a smile to her lips.
Suddenly the window behind her opened and it was Peter, crawling on the ceiling looking like Spider-Man. He dropped to the ceiling and took off his mask again. "Liz. God, I still can't believe it! Even after thinking about it all the way to Ned's house and then back here - I just can't believe it! You look - You look great." He moved in to embrace her with a gigantic smile.
Liz laughed softly and hugged him back. "I, um. I have no idea how I got here, but - but I must not have been sent back to my time. I ended up here." She apparently just had really bad luck, having just shown up and being kidnapped by a bad guy. It didn't help she had mysteriously turned up in their vault.
They talked. They talked for hours until the sun was threatening to appear and Peter knew he'd have to talk to Aunt May about all of this.
"Did you... Do you want to stay here? I'm sure Aunt May will let you if we explain everything." He paused. "Only if you want." Though Peter realized he was skirting around the real question he wanted to say. "Hey, uh, Liz?.... Are we still boyfriend and girlfriend?"
Liz blushed, but smiled regardless. "I'd... I'd really like that. If you want to be."
"Yeah." He nodded happily. "Yeah, I do."
He leaned in to kiss her and the moment she started to kiss him back, he knew. Nothing had changed between them and she was here.
