Thor, the date-whisperer

Maria was feeling under the weather and so could not help with Liz's current dilemma. When she had left her room to go to the boutique for a new dress, she was thankful to have run into Thor. When she explained she had a date - a more romantic one than usual - and she felt like she had literally nothing to wear, Thor had said he would help her be date-ready in no time.

Liz's big problem was that she felt like Peter had seen all of her wardrobe at least five times and she wanted to 'wow' him. It might have been silly - they had been dating for almost a year now - but she still did.

She dumped the various new dresses from the boutique than had been in her size onto the bed. "Okay... one of these has to look nice, right?"

She had to think like Michael for a moment. She tilted her head a little. "Well... maybe if you convince him it would be a prank. Like maybe... you didn't want it to happen because it might inconvenient people?"

"I'm probably the wrong person to ask," Thor says, clearly amused. "I've only managed to trick Loki twice, and not once since then." Granted, they happened in quick succession: when he manipulated Loki into coming to Asgard and again when he tapped Loki's back with the obedience disc. But Loki had not been easily tricked ever since.

"Well, if it were me, I might just ask him in a moment when he seemed to be in a good mood." Liz had faith that deep down Loki liked doing nice things once in a while, just the credit of it made him feel uncomfortable.

"Or you could get someone you think he likes the most to ask."

[st_ormbreaker]

"I'm not sure if there's anyone my brother likes," he says. Outside of himself, anyway. "Do you think there's somebody he likes?"

Maybe Liz knows something he doesn't.

She hummed thoughtfully. "Well.... in your journal, Loki didn't seem to get angry at Annie when she said something nice like he did with other people."

"Are you saying you think children are Loki's weakness?"

Thor somehow seems delighted by this suggestion. Children!

Her eyes widened and she brought her hands up, shaking them a little. "Don't go telling him or anything. Loki seems like the type of person if you point out something he enjoys and it makes him look weak or something, he'll stop enjoying it."

[st_ormbreaker]

"I wouldn't tell him, because you're exactly right." He directs a finger at Liz. "We'll make some snow, even if it means tricking him to make it happen."

She smiled because Thor's determination was cute. He really had a good heart. "I'll help you however I can." As long as it didn't hurt Loki in the process, obviously.

[st_ormbreaker]

"Thank you," Thor says appreciatively. "You should probably be going off to your date now."

Maybe. Thor wasn't really sure when it was, but Liz looked truly beautiful. He hopes that Peter will appreciate that.

She gave him a little, meek nod with a smile. "Okay. And.. thank you, Thor. For all of this. It's really pretty." And different. It was important sometimes to be different, especially when you were stuck in a place like the Madonna Inn that never changed.

Thor stands up, but doesn't head for the door quite yet. "If you ever need someone to do your hair again, let me know," he says, pointing a finger at her. "I like doing it." That was true.

"Okay, I promise." She would. Maria liked doing too. She'd probably have to rotate. Somehow the thought of having two 'stylists' in the same room at the same time was a little overwhelming and Liz almost wanted to blush just thinking about it.

"Um. And if you ever need anything, I'll help where I can too."

[st_ormbreaker]

"Thank you."

And with one final appreciative smile, Thor heads for the door, only turning around just once:

"Good luck with your date!"

And then he shuts the door behind him.
